Mackenzie made significant contributions to raising global awareness about the life of Dr. Hulbert and the injustices of Japanese colonial rule. She also wrote articles for a website promoting Korean history and culture to American students and teachers. Captivated not only by the Korean Wave but also by Korea’s culture, language, and people, Mackenzie aspires to become a diplomat, strengthen Korea–U.S. relations, and establish proper Korean history education in the United States.
