East Sea = “Chinese Sea”? Error Corrected!

<2012.02.21>

At the start of the new year in 2012, VANK discovered a geographical labeling error on a U.S. military online shopping website.
On the site, the East Sea was incorrectly labeled as the South Sea, and the South Sea was mislabeled as the East China Sea.
After identifying this error, VANK sent an official letter requesting correction—and has now confirmed that the issue has been successfully resolved.

The website in question, shopmyexchange.com, is operated by a company with over 115 years of history and supplies goods to more than 3,100 locations worldwide.
This error was particularly serious because the mislabeling appeared on one of the site’s most prominent pages—the main menu page.

When U.S. military personnel accessed the “Exchange Stores” section and selected Korea, the incorrect map labels appeared, potentially misleading countless service members about Korea’s geography.
