Baek Si-eun served as a youth researcher at VANK from September 2025 to February 2026. She helped lead campaigns to correct global misunderstandings about Africa by investigating how Africa is portrayed in world maps, media, and online content. In addition, she analyzed errors about Korean regions and cultural heritage in generative AI systems, helped write a detailed policy report proposing improvements, and presented the findings to government and public institutions, while also helping organize the Global AI Cultural Heritage Ambassador program with the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage.
