The Voluntary Agency Network of Korea (VANK), led by Park Gi-tae, will hold a nationwide preliminary event open to all Korean citizens ahead of the opening of the “2026 National Brand Up Exhibition” on February 25, 2026.
VANK announced on February 19 that it will launch an online campaign titled “Promoting Korea with AI: K-Brand Creation Event.”
The event is intended to encourage every Korean citizen to become an “AI diplomat” and help introduce the beauty and culture of Korea to the world.
Participants can use generative AI technology to create videos, posters, or songs based on themes such as Korean history, culture and the Korean Wave, and upload their work to VANK’s online platform.
Outstanding AI creations that combine advanced technology with citizens’ creativity will be used as part of VANK’s global promotional content on Korea. Some will also be presented during the upcoming exhibition.
Park said the campaign is meant to demonstrate that anyone can become a key player in promoting Korean culture worldwide by using the latest technology in everyday life. He added that he hopes the exhibition will showcase the strength of K-culture and the power of citizen diplomacy.
Kwon So-young, a researcher at VANK, noted that the global Korean Wave has surpassed 200 million fans worldwide. She expressed hope that all Koreans will now step forward as AI diplomats and serve as ambassadors promoting Korea to the world.
The annual National Brand Up Exhibition, held to properly promote Korea at home and abroad and enhance the country’s national brand, is jointly hosted by VANK and Yonhap News Agency, with support from the Korea Heritage Service.
Under the theme “Hallyu Becomes a Global Culture,” the exhibition will open on February 25, 2026 at the underground passageway of the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and will run through March 2, 2026.
